Earlier in the week we heard that Apple has moved to a three-year refresh cycle for iPhone models, with annual hardware upgrades during that period. We've heard that the iPhone 7 models will be exactly that, hardware upgrade with few visual changes, but what about the next year's iPhone 8?

According to IHS technologies analyst Kevin Wang via Weibo, Apple may be planning to adopt a curved-edge design for the future iPhone, similar to Samsung's Galaxy S7 Edge handsets. I would take this one with a grain of salt folks.

Apple's supply chain reports have stated that suppliers have been retooling and making preparations for a rumored iPhone with AMOLED display. Rumors of Apple switching to OLED panels in 2017 have been flying around for some time now, but Wang is the first to combine the theory that the device will have an AMOLED display, which is curved on the right and left sides.

This is one rumour that I hope is wrong. The curved edge screen is more of a gimmick than a useful feature.
