Apple extended holiday return policy kicks off.JPG

9to5 Mac reports that Apple’s very handy extended Holiday Return Policy has now kicked off. This means that instead of only having 14 days to decide whether or not you like a particular Apple product, you now have up until January 8 2017 to return the goods for a full refund. The one caveat to bear in mind is that this only applies to items purchased up until December 25, 2016; after 2016 the Standard Return Policy applies.

Only products purchased directly either from an Apple retail store or Apple’s online store qualify for the extended returns policy. Products can be returned at any Apple Store, or by having them collected, which can be arranged via the Order Status page.

There are eight types of items that the Holiday Return Policy doesn’t apply to:
  • Opened memory
  • Opened software (unless you reject the licensing terms)
  • Electronic software downloads
  • Print products
  • Software up-to-date program products (software upgrades)
  • Apple gift cards
  • Apple gift packaging (origami-style gift box with ribbon and greeting card)
  • Apple developer products (membership, technical support incidents, WWDC tickets)
