I have an iphone with error -1 and I wanted to take it into the Apple store but I dont have a store anywhere near me and I dont want to send it in somewhere. Is there another solution?

This is what the Apple Support site says: [h=3]Error -1[/h]Attempt to restore your iOS device two more times. If the issue is still unresolved, the device may need service.
Try that, if it doesn't work for you go online with their suppoort center and talk to them.
