We have seen rumors that suggest Apple is trying to distance itself from the partnership it has with its arch competitor Samsung in the chip department, and is looking for new partners to take on.

Now, a new report coming to us from sources familiar with Taiwan’s Semiconductor Manufacturing Company business claim that Cupertino is set to “tape out” the next generation processor – A7 SoC, as soon as this month, to anticipate the summer rush. Thus, if we are to believe the news, a future where Apple brings multiple chip producers into the game, might not be far ahead after all.

DigiTimes goes on to say that the chips will set to be implemented into new products by early 2014. This rumor comes to joins others on the band wagon, all expressing similar theories.

One of the like, comes from the CNET publication, that sees the Taiwanese Semiconductor company starting the “tape out” process for the next generation Apple processor somewhere in March, while production is anticipated to start somewhere between May and June.

TSMC has invested a lot of money in its Tainan Science Park – more than $17 billion, and rumors seem to point out that the company is going to take its Apple business there as well. Judging the potential of the firm by its economical stability, TSMC seems like a fertile ground for Apple to do business.
