Typing in a password into your Mac every single time you would like to access it can be a bit of a hassle, especially if the password is a long one. Apple has made it easy for iPhone users with Touch ID, most of the time never having to enter a passcode.

The company has also made it easy for Apple Watch users to access the device by unlocking a connected iPhone. According to a new report from MacRumors, Apple engineers are working on a way to unlock a Mac using a paired iPhones Touch ID or passcode.

The technology would use Bluetooth LE frameworks and a user would just have to unlock the connected iPhone for the Mac to be access. Rumors have been flying around for some time that Apple would implement touch ID into MacBooks, but this seems like the more reasonable option.
