Any way to activate iPhone 4s without simcard?

I am looking for anyway to activate my iPhone 4s without a simcard. In a foreign country on vacation and have no way of just "borrowing" a friends at&t simcard.

I'm afraid not. The iPhone needs a SIM card in the holder in order to activate. If your iPhone is unlocked, you can use a local Pre-paid SIM card.

Had no idea that would work. I unlocked it from some dude on ebay and then just used my German prepaid sim card. Awesome.
