Analyst Says Apple Could Produce 22 Million iPhones in Q4

Although we’re still really none the wiser about whether there will be two new iPhones released this October or just one, Cnet reports today that according to an investor’s note from Rodman & Renshaw analyst Ashok Kumar, the next iPhone (and he believes it will be just one iPhone, not iPhones) could well make up nearly 25 percent of the total volume in Q4, and that Apple is on course to make 22 million iPhones in Q4, thanks to the debut of the next iPhone. As far as the exact nature of that new iPhone, Cnet reports that Kumar believes that it will be an “upgrade and not a complete redesign,” with Apple then going on to market the iPhone 4 as a cheaper device. He adds that he thinks that Apple will keep selling the iPhone 4 alongside the new iPhone way into next year, when a totally revamped iPhone will be unveiled.
