With everyone excitedly awaiting Apple’s expected announcement of the next iPhone on September 12, AppleInsider reports that FBR Capital Markets analyst Craig Berger has gone on the record as saying he expects very big things indeed from then iPhone 5 (or whatever Apple decides to call it), so much so that he thinks even Apple’s chip manufacturing partners and carrier partners will also feel the benefit of the next iPhone’s revenue surge. Specifically, Berger thinks that Qualcomm and Fairchild Semiconductor will be boosted by the success of the new phone, which he says could well sell around 250 million units over its lifespan. Berger went on to say that the “iPhone 5 Tsunami” will enable the wireless industry to “migrate to a better balance between content provider and end-user revenue sources to support continued investment.” Fortunately we don’t have much longer to wait now to find out all about the next iPhone, as it’s predicted that it could well be on sale, in the US at least, in one month’s time.
