2016 should be an interesting year when it come to future iPhone leaks. Last year with the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus most of us knew what to expect, since Apple tends to keep nearly the same iPhone design for a two-year cycle. This year however, we expect that Apple will keep to its history and show us a completely redesigned iPhone 7.

On Wednesday, Taiwanese website Apple.club.tw posted images of an alleged iPhone 7 display backlight module. Not much can be determined with the given information, however it does seem there have been some minor changes to the location of the flex cable and a chip that controls 3D Touch.

The above photos show the iPhone 6S backlight module to the left, while the claimed iPhone 7 module to the right. Rumors have been flying around for ages that Apple is planning to switch to OLED technology for its displays. If this leak is any proof, the iPhone 7 will not use OLED due to the technology not needing a backlight module.

It seems like we now have two mutually contradictory rumours here. It's not possible for both of them to be true so we'll just have to wait and see which rumour about the display technology for the new iPhones is correct.
