Add songs to an existing Album

I am trying to add a Specific Song to the Music Library by doing the following:
- Go to File | Add File to Library …
- Once in the library, these items become available for you to add to your phone’s library or to playlists which will sync each time when iTunes and your phone are connected.
Sometimes, this causes the song to go into a new album called Unknown Album / Unknown Artist. Sometimes, it causes the song to go into a new album with a name from the Album. However, I want the songs to go into the Album Miscellaneous Music. Is there a way to do this? Dragging the files into the respective album did not work.

On your computer (not in iTunes), you should find the iTunes Music folder with the music library. Did you try to add the song to the album there?

No; I tried to add the songs by going to File | Add File to Library within iTunes. To my knowledge it is not possible to manage my Music library on my computer if not through iTunes.
