My father rents a condo from someone with free wireless. Trouble is, the access sid is like three words with spaces between them. His iphone does not even see it i believe for this reason. Is there a way for him to access the wireless without them changing it, or does he have to ask his landlord to make it something else?

Hmm. Does anyone know of a tweak that will let the iphone acces a wireless access point with spacial characters in the name? Seems like a simple enough question. I have a hard time believing this really can't be done. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Try it without the spaces in it. For SSID, it shouldn't be case sensitive as is the password.

Ok.. So he needs to confront his landlord then. Just wanted to be sure before he went through the trouble.

Side note. If you want to protect your wireless access point from annoying iphone using moochers, all you need to do is put a space in the ssid. :)
