Depends on whether or not you use the jailbreak or not. I know some people that jailbroke their iPhones but never touched Cydia. If you'd like to tweak and mess with the aesthetics, sure thing. If not, just keep it clean. If you're on iOS 6, you can't jailbreak yet. And also, don't jailbreak for the sake of free games. That app is an eye sore for depriving people of what they should earn.

I guess the biggest question to ask is... what would you like to do w/ your iPhone that it doesn't currently allow?

I jailbroke my iPhone 4S a week after I bought it, but I went ahead and upgraded to 6.0.1 knowing the jailbreak would be removed. It was nice to play with but I felt it wasn't needed. I don't plan to jailbreak any of my devices in the future. But, that's just my person preference.

Exactly! I'd say for 75% of Jailbreakers it's a novelty... because everyone else I doing it. 15% like added functionality like BiteSMS, SBSettings, TetherMe, etc. The other 10% are heavy themers... that love customizing every aspect of their iPhone experience.
