Hello! I hope to find some answers to a problem I've been having with my 8gb 3GS. Loading new apps, downloading videos such as on YouTube, streaming music and viewing facebook has become extremely slow, always, if not impossible at times. Without getting too personal, I recently broke up w my girlfriend who is in possession of the laptop I used to manage & update my iPhone. I now survive strictly on wifi in a motel. There are two signals I can use from my room, and it seems that each is "better" for different operations (though neither is great for anything) & I find myself constantly switching back & forth, sometimes losing the signal completely. I have recently wiped the entire phone & updated to iOS5 at the AppleStore. I have 88 apps, plus photos and and about 250 songs. Could the memory usage be an issue? When I go to the front of the motel I can connect to Linksys which is slightly faster & more reliable. Is it just that the wifi is low quality? Are there viruses that could affect my phone? Yes, I have glanced at some porn, but not regularly... :-/ Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions anyone has! And please pray for my dog who is still at my exgf's until I can find a new place!

Sorry to here about your situation.

The slow Internet speeds are most likely strictly from the wifi signal. Not the phone itself.

Either the signal is really weak....or there are too many users using the same wifi network which in turn....slows down the network.

I would buy a hard drive....find a computer in which you can I stall iTunes....download all your apps and music through your account in iTunes...then transfer iTunes to the hard drive...that way you have everything stored safely in hard disk space.

Apple is still signing 4.1 for the 3gs. I know its outta date, but it will be faster on a 3gs

So I shouldn't have updated to iOS 5? I'm obviously not an expert but it seems so much better and I like some of the new features!
