Is it possible to use my iPhone as a router to connect my laptop to the internet when I am on vacation. For example, the rooms all have free internet but you are connected by an ethernet cable in one are of the room. I am looking to use my wireless capabilities on my laptop so I dont have to be tethered to that ethernet cable.

Not sure if this is possible.

I have Windows Vista system and an iPhone 4.

thanks!

If your phone is jailbreaked you can use your GPRS connection as a wifi hotspot. But it might cost you money.

Hi
You can use your iPhone (not jail broken) as a wifi hotspot. You may just need to check your data package with your provider.
Hope this helps bit.ly/jtbsOX

Not all the iOS come with the hotspot settings on it, some yes but not most. It's good that you mention it anyway as the P.O could happens having the hotspot setting in his iOS.

I 'tethered' my iphone4 to my pappy - not jail token works fine.

Be very aware data costs, especially when roaming can be extortionate, so as others say check with your provider.
