Upgrade killing battery

Hi

I convinced my wife to upgrade her iPhone 3GS to the multi threading OS.
Now her battery is not lasting a full day with hardly any use.

Has this happened to anyone else? Can we go back?

I have the same update and while my phone is at 85% for the same time and use hers is at 45%.
