I hope I post this in the right section.

Today I have the iPhone 5 with iOS 6.0 A couple of days ago I read that our friends in the jailbreak business are working on a untethered jb to iOS 6.0.1
So I thought to myself; hey, I must update now. So, plug in phone to computer, open iTunes and find out there now is 6.0.2 out. Damn!

My question: is here any way to skip the 02 update and instead choose the 01? Like download the 01 (I found this iPhone5,1_6.0.1_10A525_Restore.ipsw) install that in some way and hack something?

Thanks

Sorry, but Apple is no longer signing iOS 6.0.1 for the iPhone 5. If you update, it can only be to iOS 6.0.2.

Thanks.
I know they don´t sign it anymore, that´s why I asked about the .ipsw file I found ;)
The only time a .ipsw is useful is when you jailbreak?

That file won't allow you to update to iOS 6.0.1 instead of iOS 6.0.2.

Oh, ok. Thanks for the info :)
I can only hope that when/if our friends manage to get a jailbreak thru for the 6.0.1 it will also work for 6.0.2

The only way you can update to iOS 6.0.1 from iOS 6.0 right now, is if you have the SHSH blobs saved. Once Apple stops signing an iOS, you'll need SHSH blobs to be able to upgrade to that iOS. Downgrading depends on the device and whether there's a way to exploit it.
