Unable to download apps.

I just got a brand new iphone 4 for christmas today (early gift). I was having fun just messing around around on it, downloading apps and such. Then i tried to download another app and it said unable to purchase and put a grey icon in the background that sais waiting. That was yesterday and i've tried downloading more apps since and it does the same thing. I cant even delete the icon! Honestly im really angry because i just got this yesterday and i just want it to work. Thanks.

Try a soft-reset. Close all apps then - Hold down the HOME, bottom button, and the SLEEP, top button, for about 10 seconds until the Apple icon appears. Allow it to reboot, it may take a few minutes, don't panic like I did, wait for it to reboot. Cures many weird problems on iOS devices.
