Have an iPhone 4, my first iPhone. I just had no idea that this couldn't phone could not do this. Ever since I started using smartphones with my first being T-mobile Dash(windows)' then to android, then to blackberry to Symbian. I realized I could no longer stand android since the system seems all over the place and off for business, blackberry was a little outdated, so I went for the iPhone since it was always admirable. Though I am still learning the device, I do enjoy it, but simple functions like sending attachments in emails not working are almost a deal breaker. I email files a lot and especially on the go. Can anyone help with this please. I would hate to have to return my iPhone for something as simple as this.

I was going too fast so let me complete my statement. I was saying that every smartphone I've ever used has had this function. And after using the stability of the blackberry, android was a disappointment. It just seems too teeny for me and this is coming from a 24 year old. As said previously, a fix or app for this issue would be big for me if someone can point me in the right direction. Thanks.

This is a known issue for many users of the iPhone. In order to send an attachment, lets say a photo, you would need to go to the camera roll, find the picture, then there is an option to send the photo as an attachment. This can be very tedious and thankfully for me since I use gmail, there was an official gmail app released for the iPhone recently. If you use gmail I would recommend using this as your email app instead. It allows you to create attachments like you would on your computer...much better....
