thinking of jailbreaking

i have the 4 , running the stock ios5.01 ... been thinking of jailbreaking... but have never done anything like this and im clueless on doing this... any advice or help???

what does jailbreaking do for me? and will i lose everything on my phone and have to re load everything.... will this affect me hooking it up to itunes? Sorry so many questions... my main thing is im hooked on instagram... lone story short, my daughter and her boyfriend has been messing with my phone and ended up getting my account banned on IG.. they will not unlock it,,, im told the only way to fix this is to jailbreak..
