the iphone "iPhone" could not be repaired. An unknown error occured (1015)

my iphone 3g needs to be restored. It was previously jailbroken to 4.1.2 I think. I tried clean everything off and start fresh with it but its been locked out since. I hook it into my pc and itunes tells me i must restore. so when I do so it gets to about 99% done then shuts down and gives me this error message any help on how I can fix this?

Did you flash your 3G's baseband to the iPad Baseband by any chance?

no, I had it jailbroken previously then I used the phones "restore and delete all" feature.. when it tried to wipe everything off it froze and never turned on again

1015 is a baseband issue. Create a custom IPSW to preserve the baseband and restore using that custom IPSW.
