Text message trouble

I have a problem with my iphone where I go to write texts and the only keys that work are l, m and the space bar, and it just takes off and repeats these and puts big spaces between the letters. Its like I've pressed the enter key a lot and it just keeps scrolling down and not using any letters.

Does this happen all the time? Or is it just sometimes?

Have you tried a restore?

It doesnt happen all the time, I can sometimes go for a couple of weeks, then it will happen for a day or so. If I do a restore, will I lose all my numbers and things off the phone?? And how do I do one??

Weird that it is intermittent.

If you have sync'd everything on your phone you won't lose anything. You can sync contacts within iTunes as well.

To restore you just open iTunes and click on your iPod/iPhone and click Restore.

Hang out to see if anyone can give you any answers which might be more useful though. Someone else here may have seen something similar

I would restore in iTunes.

Make sure everything is backed up to your computer as far as contacts and things go. Then you can restore from that back up and not loose any data...
