On our previous System Failure, we reported that iTunes accounts were getting hacked/used to buy books from publisher "mycompany". Clayton Morris reports that only 400 accounts out of the 150 million on iTunes were affected by this. The iTunes servers, themselves, were in no danger in any way. So this must be due to spyware, keyloggers, etc. on peoples' computers. Scanning your computers at least once or twice a week is always a good habit. Apple is planning to upgrade their security so that you have to enter your 3 digit code on the back of your credit/debit card more often. Thuat Nguyen, the developer of the books, has been booted from the App Store for violation of terms.

people seem to want to mess with apple this year.. first shitmodo steal their products and then this

Because the iTunes password and your credit card number are saved in your iTunes account. If somebody can get it they can buy whatever they want. But if it asked for your code on the back of your card they wouldn't be able to get it.
