Stuck in Contacts Menu

How do I get out of it? Am being really thick, I am sure!

OK, I have reset my phone and 35 minutes later I am looking at my menu again. I have touched the screen and am now in the settings menu and I don't know how to get back out to the main menu. Must be something that I am missing. Anyone?
