I've had a 4s for about a year, works fine no problem. I answered it the other day and took a look at what I was doing. I held the phone to my ear just like a phone. But, I realized that the mic was next to my ear and the speakers were on the bottom. This with the normal position with the button on the bottom.

So what do you do? Turn it over, leave it on the desk, hold it in front of you??

I'm not sure why I thought of this -- I'm normally quite rational.

There's a speaker at the top at your ear, and at the bottom there's a speaker and the mic. It may look like there are two speakers at the bottom but they're not.

"My Stars" these Apple people thing of everything.

Thanks, Dave. I never thought to just look at the manual.

The top and bottom speakers are for different things. Game sounds, for example, come out the bottom speaker.
