If you own the music you can make your ringtone in iTunes. Import the song into iTunes first and you can select up to 40 seconds anywhere in the song to create the ringtone

It's been a while since I have made a ringtone with iTunes so correct me if I am wrong, but don't you also have to create an AAC version and then convert the file into .m4r then drag it back into iTunes?
