Resizing the Return Key in Keyboard Globally

Is there any way to remove or alter the size of the return key globally?

I've looked at all the existing keyboard layouts and none seem to be able to achieve this goal.

If i wanted to design this layout myself using a pre-existing template of the default keyboard - would this be possible? and if so what programs/guides would I use? I have found various guides in coding your own keyboard layout however I think my goal is far simpler than what most guides are aimed at.

I'm running 5.1.1 on Iphone 4

Any suggestions?

In my limited experience, it's easy to resize the button itself but not the area that triggers the return button. Even if you resize the UI of the button itself, there'll be a gap between the return key and whichever key is beside it (depending on which language keyboard you're using), and if you touch that gap, it'll still trigger the return button

ah i see, so without having some knowledge and experience with these sort of things, its unlikely ill be able to achieve what i want unless someone professional does it?

You would have to dwell a little deeper to be able to really change that.
