Resell my iphone4

I bought an 32Gb Iphone-4 thru Verizon in Mar. The signal strength in my area is weak (0-bar to 1-bar) and the phone was/is unusable. Verizon will not replace the phone ( past complaint deadline dates) or remedy the situation in anyway Not even a case. I have canceled my data plan with Verizon but retain the carrier with my old flip phone.
Now I plan to sell my iphone on line. I see a large number of Iphones on sale with ESN problems. Will the buyer of my phone have similar problems?

anyone with similar experience? any cautionary tales?
