quick question - jailbreak/unlock?

im just wondering, if i jailbreak my iphone4 - will it be unlocked from vodaphone?

Jailbreaking is not the same thing as unlocking. After you jailbreak you must install ultrasn0w if you have a compatible baseband, otherwise you will need to use Gevey SIM(again if you have a compatible baseband).

sorry mate. im very new to all this and thats kinda confused me a bit. how do i check if i have a compatible baseband? im willin to give anything a shot coz ive had this phone for a week and its drivin me mad not bein able to use it >.<

just read up on it. ive got baseband 04.11.08 and i also read that its not unlockable =[ is there anythin else i can do?

Unfortunately not, there is no way to unlock the 04.11.08 baseband right now, probably wont be a way for a long time.

Ya, getting the carrier to unlock the phone is the best option(we don't have that ability in the US :/)
