I just installed HeyTell and love it, but then i learned about voxer, which does texting and voicetext. anyone like any app better?

I use none of those since I have no one using either of them. But I do think that voxer is better since you can stream voice in real time. Problem is to know which one your friends are using? Or maybe you can convince them to use the one you are using.

this is true, however apparently you can have other people sign up.. registration is kinda weird but you can text also

In addition to streaming audio live, Voxer also allows you to send picture (and text, which you mentioned) messages.

Voxer is relatively a new service, so you will have to convince some of your friends to join you. If you signup through Facebook you will be connected automatically with all of your Facebook friends who have Voxer and the signup is extremely simple. I'm not objective, but I definitely think that Voxer worth convincing your friends to give it a try.
