Push Notification

Hey Everyone,

So i have an unlocked iphone 4 running iOS5 and I was wondering how I can get my push noticificatins to work. Not for mail but for apps like whatapp, heytell, hanging with friends etc. I have them turned on in settings but it's still not alerting me. Thank You
