Problems setting up email accounts

I have just got my iPhone 5 and have set up my email accounts using exactly the same settings as on my iPad. One is a pop 3 account and one is an imap account. I am receiving emails ok on both accounts but cannot send. I also have a hotmail account which is working perfectly. I have double checked the settings are matching the iPad.
 
I ALWAYS have an issue w/an email account on my iphone every 2 or 3 months....All of a sudden it won't let me either send or receive or both! So annoying!!!
 
I use my Bt Internet e mail address and hotmail accounts with no
Issue. Both are pop accounts.
