Problem sending photos from iPhone5

I'm new with the iPhone5, but love it. Except that I can't send photos to other phones. I can send text just fine, but when I try to send a photo I get a message saying that the message was not delivered. What am I doing wrong?

Are the messages being sent via iMessage or through your 3G connection as a standard picture message (MMS) ?

If being sent as an iMessage check your Internet connection and try again.

If sending as a standard MMS message maybe check you're carrier lets you send picture messages as part of your tariff/data plan. This may be what's stopping the message being sent.

Remember that you can only imessage with other Apple devices.

I turned iMessage off as it was giving me some issues also, pics & text are much smoother without it .

You shouldn't have to turn that off. I send text pictures occasionally. Email is the best way to go IMHO.

Thank you so much for the tip. I had my cellular data turned off. When I activated that my problem was solved.
