Power button failure

Anybody know more about this issue. Thought mine was doing it but now think I just wasn't giving it enough time to fully power down before restart.

Yeah, it happens very, very, gradually. When mine started going out, I thought maybe I was imagining it. But it got worse to the point where it was fairly difficult to push it down without a case on. It never completely died on me but I got it replaced before it did. For me, it took about 4 months before I replaced it. I took mine to a repair shop which charged me $70 and that was about a month before Apple announced the program.
