phone not ringing

I have an iphone5 and its not ringing. checked and made sure they are all turned on and they are. only vibrates.
also no sound when typing out text messages and no sound when taking a pic
can you give me any suggestions

Cherck the toggle switch on the left side of the phone, above the volumne buttons. Is it showing red? Toggle it so it doesn't. If that isnt the problem and our sounds are set up correctly, give the phone a hard reset (hold the home button and the power button on top at the same time until your ohone shows the white apple on the front, then let go of the buttons).hth

Go to Settings>Sounds and check to see if the ringer volume is turned down and if changing the ringer volume with the volume buttons has been turned off. Check to make sure that lock sounds and keyboard sounds are turned on.

Sorry I was away for the weekend. it was the toggle button. my hubby figured it out on Saturday morning for me and now its all fine.
