Hi guys, I've just gone to the app store to add a new app, however I'm slightly confused as its not asking me to enter my apple id password anymore, i'm not sure if I've accidently changed something but i'm a little worried its unsecure. Is this normal? Thank you.

With iOS 6, this was a new feature. When purchasing apps that are free, users are no longer prompted to type their Apple ID password in. However, I have noticed that this is inconsistent for me, particularly for new apps that have been developed....it prompts me to add my password. If you have made a transaction with your credit card/iTunes card any purchase of another app within that 15 minute time frame will not ask for your password. You can change this feature in your settings for in-app purchases and have your password prompted immediately if you wish.

Have a look at this from News Staff Maura: http://www.ipadforums.net/apple-ipad-news/84850-password-no-longer-required-free-apps-ios-6-a.html

Maybe others have more to add to this.
