Original Iphone Question

I have an original Iphone 8gb and I have a cracked screen. Would a cracked screen cause the keyboard to not work correctly . Also I was wondering if their was any way to upgrade the Ios program from the 3.1.3 to Ios 4.0 or higher. Thanks

Yes cracked screen could inter fear with the touch sensitivity. Not all the time, but pending how mashed up it is, it'll need to be replaced. And no, you can't upgrade past a certain iOS. I believe you'll be able to get as far as 4.3 (maybe) not sure, someone else can confirm. After a while the new iOS updates aren't supported on older gen hardware. G'luck.

The highest iOS version that the original iPhone will support is 3.1.3. As well, with a cracked screen... that can effect the way the touch screen responds. Here's a screen replacement how-to... Installing iPhone 1st Generation Display Assembly - iFixit.
