Unfortunately you cannot change your Baseband once you're on it. The only way your 4.11.08 Baseband will change is when Apple decides to update it w/ a future iOS release. As far as difference between Baseband & Firmware.... Baseband deals w/ the cellular radio and Firmware is the iOS version.

Any idea or opinion on Gevey chip? Would that change my circumstances?

As far as Unlocking your iP4 right now... yes. :-( Options.... wait for the Devs to work an unlock for BB 4.11.08 or sell your iP4 and purchase one that's still on a previous BB.
