Criminals should think twice about snatching iPhones. The DC area is plagued with these snatch and grab operations. I'm surprised to even hear the police did anything about it. Findmyiphone eventually led up to the arrest of these perps.

Does findmyiphone work when the iPhone is off? or what if they restored/factory reset the devices?

No it won't work. It also requires your location always to be on. In my opinion it kind of sucks. Reason why i don't use it. If they restored it there would be no way to ever find it. But if it was a Verizon phone the thief would just be dumb bc Verizon will just blacklist the once it's reported lost or stolen.. Making the phone un carrierable. Ha. I just created a word.
