No Ringer on Text Messages

I ran into a problem with the ringer on my iPhone 16 that has only gotten worse. I noticed that my phone would not ring for text messages. At first I thought it was pretty simple so I went to the AT&T store to see if they knew what it was. Thought they had it all taken care of but shortly after leaving the problem returned. I have since gone to the Apple Store where they ran diagnostics and checked this and that then told me it was because the alerts were hidden. Okay, I asked them how did they get turned off since I didn’t do it. They couldn’t answer that or how Notifications for Messages got randomly turned off. They then told me that the phone was fine and they couldn’t do anything else. I left with the phone still not receiving tones for text messages. Then last night and today I randomly got ring tones for no apparent reason. No text no call. Very disappointed with this iPhone.
