If you love going out for a run in the morning or doing any kind of physical activity, then you might be pleased to learn that Nike has just released its own monitoring digital wristband.

But the idea behind this project is that, you shouldn’t only track your hours spent at the gym, but no, you should monitor all your activities during a regular day. The device can of course transmit the information while your stand but it also can broadcast wirelessly the information gathered to an iPhone app or a computer via a USB plug that’s built in. Now, you can adjust your daily activities based on the report.

The device was especially designed to be worn through out the day, so Nike made sure the Nike+FuelBand got an ergonomic and user friendly interface. The information is gathered by monitoring the movement of the wrist via a LED dot matrix display. The user will be able to choose from four metrics: Time, Calories, Steps and NikeFuel.

To use NikeFuel, health seekers will have to set a goal for themselves. Imagine how active you would like to be in a day and set your NikeFuel accordingly. Then the Nike+FuelBand will display a series of 20 LED light that will turn green when the users is getting closer to the self-imposed goal. There’s a funny bonus added to the device. The app interface provides encouragement and motivation boosts as goals are achieved.

The device is going on sale for $149 and is now available to all interested parties. Who said that being healthy was no fun?
