Hi, I hope this forum is the place for me, appears to be active which is a great start.

I'm old..but new to iphone. Rarely use tbh but nowadays you have too I suppose.

So, skip to the end, ive a iphone 16promax, and ive a lot to learn esp. the phone. My question(s) are, travelling from UK to NewYork, what charger do i need? and as the phone does not come with a charger (grrrrr), what is the best one to get - before you say Iphone - what about Anker?

I've been looking on youtube / Amazon - some mention a 'ring magnet' then when i look it says ' charger not supplied' ? a bit lost.

So, for now, just a plug so i can charge the thing, and an adapter for NewYork, and a...powerbank for emergencies. Any recommendations?

i was under the impression not to fast charge these things...so...thinking a powerbank - maybe not? or these days not really a problem.

Appreciate any replies. Just need to get started really. So many options.

Hello, welcome to the forum....
I'm in the UK and I also have the iPhone 16 Pro Max, it's a. great phone and you will soon get used to it, I don't know about chargers for New York but for the UK get one at least 20W, and yes, Anker are a good brand, I have a 6 foot Anker cable for my ipad.
This forum has many members in the USA so someone will answer your questions on your travel needs, hope that was helpful.....

Thank you Pp for the speedy reply, appreciated, glad you like the phone - personally i'm 'against' all this techno but am intrested in learning about the camera. OK - so 20watt then..i need to look out for...i noticed that..some saying high numbers......im not intrested so much in fast charging etc keen to preserve life of battery as wont be using it much.

But, yes, how to use adapter ( what type ) for America from the UK and a power bank...a decent one..not cheap not pricer..again thinking Anker.

I don't travel anymore so I don't much about that side but I'm sure someone will, I use AI to find out a lot information, answers in seconds, saves all that trawling through Google, give it a try...
As for the camera it's a great one on that phone, you will find it fantastic while you're travelling.

I’m a Brit living in Canada so I have a bit of relevant experience here. Canadian and American electrics are identical. The only thing you’ll need to get you going on the American system is the wall wart. You can plug your USB cable straight in and it will work.

Here’s the Canadian/American version.

I use this for charging my iPhone 17. I also have another magnetic charger in my semi-truck (articulated lorry). I’ll post a pic of that one later tonight when I’m driving it. I think it’s made by Belkin.
