Hi,Am a first time iPhone owner/user and after using nokia's for a long time am new to this iphone tech.

Thus far am finding it much easier to use.

Look forward to learning more from the boards. :)

Another Aussie... perfect!!!!

Welcome to the site, hope you learn lots and have fun with your phone.

Thanks Craigfoot!

Was going all well till now I cannot get my ringer or sounds to work (music via ipod works fine with headphones on) and can listen to calls but not with loudspeaker.

Is it muted?

Look at the switch on the left hand side at the top. If it is red, it is muted.

Yeah, found that part - it's a slide mechanism near the + and - buttons? Have that checked as being off bell sign comes up and volume can be upped and downed via buttons.

Been in the settings (utilities) section and have not found anything else out of place.

Was working fine yesterday, cannot fathom what else I am missing.

EDIT: did a restore about an hour ago just in case and that's not changed anything.

Update on audible issue: seems speakers are not working.

Vodafone AU in their infinite wisdom require the phone to be looked (at three days after purchase) and then the store I bought the phone from will be emailed with "permission" to give me a replacement.

DOA auto-replacement period is 24hrs (apparently)

So,obviously they seek to determine I have not gotten water ingress or damaged the phone before allowing me a replacement.

Which neither has occurred.
