AppleInsider reports that a new augmented reality app has been devised by Belgian IT company Underside that lets you “try on” an Apple Watch to see how it might look on your wrist.

First you need to attach a small printable target to your wrist, then start the augmented reality app to view the different Apple Watch models. Simply tap on the screen to cycle through the selection of watch cases and bands.

The only small snag is that you can’t get the app from the App Store, you have to go to Underside’s website to download it, and then give the app permission to run on your device as an unapproved app.

If that sounds like a bit too much bother for you, then you can check out actual-size renderings of each case in the Apple Store app. Simply open the app, choose one of the watches, select “View Pricing” from the top-right-hand corner, and then choose to “Compare case sizes” in the middle of the screen.

Pre-orders for the Apple Watch start from April 10, with a first shipment date of April 24.
