Ok, now your issue makes sense. You are using the front facing camera. When it is in view finder mode, it will show you a mirrored image. The reason they do that is to make it easier for you to point the camera where you want. IE you grew up in front of a mirror and your brain only knows one way to move an object that is showing you a reflection of yourself.
But the second you snap the photo the system treats the scene as any normal camera would and snaps the photo correctly. You can prove that by simply taking a picture with the front camera and then taking the same picture with the back camera. Both will turn out the same.
