Blackout is obviously the fifth installment to the Modern Combat series, which has gained fantastic reviews in the past for its graphics, gameplay and multiplayer on mobile devices. The game has also been previously updated with iOS 8's Metal technology, as well as support for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus higher resolution.
Unfortunately MC5: Blackout requires online connectivity to play, and yes, even the single player requires an internet connection. However, the multiplayer in Modern Combat 5 is probably the best online first person shooter money can buy on iOS. There's no MFi gamepad support as of now, but Gameloft has stated that it will be coming as part of an update later on. Modern Combat 5: Blackout can now be found in the App Store at a discounted price of $3.99.
