hi there... not such which verison of the iphone it is but a friend of mine has it setup where he can just have the persons name come up on his friend with the number of txt messages they sent instead of what the person said in a txt msg... the verison of the iphone i have is 4... just wondering if this feature works for the iphone 4 or if it is something to do with the iphone 4s..

under settings > messages
it only lists imessage, send read receipts, send as sms, reiceve at, mms messaging, show subject field and character count... so i guess the feature im looking for is only with the iphone 4s

Sorry my mistake. You need to go to settings> notifications> messages and switch show preview to off!
