itunes - display iphone after looking at local files

the recent change in the itunes interface has left me confused as to how to reverse to iphone view.
the only way I can make the iphone button appear is by disconnecting and reconnecting the cable on my laptop.
not very elegant.
help please?

I didn't like the new interface, so I put back the sidebar view. If you go under "View", you can select to "show sidebar". I don't have it in front of me, but if I recall, in the current interface there is an icon on the top right that looks like an iPhone. You have to hit that and NOT hit a little down arrow beside it. I'm not sure if that answered your question or not....
