Now that we have the news that Apple will officially be launching the iPhone 5 on September 12, AppleInsider writes that well-respected analyst Gene Munster from Piper Jaffray has issued a note to investors saying that sales could reach up to 10 million in just one week following the launch. Munster says that although Wall Street is expecting Apple to sell between 22 million and 23 million iPhones in the September quarter, if and when the iPhone 5 goes on sale at the end of the month, sales could reach as much as 28 million for the quarter, and Munster even goes as far as to say that he thinks Apple could sell between 6 and 10 million iPhones in the last week of September if the iPhone 5 is released in that week, providing there are no major supply problems. As AppleInsider notes, should Apple sell 8 million iPhone 5s in the launch week, this would double the 4 million iPhone 4S units that were sold at launch.
