AppleInsider reports that Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster has made his predictions today ahead of Apple’s expected Q1 earnings announcement in a week and a half. Munster says that he expects Apple to have sold 33 million iPhones and 12 million iPads in the first quarter of 2012. As AppleInsider notes, this is slightly higher than Wall Street’s average projections of 30.5 million iPhones, and slightly lower than Wall Street’s average projections of 13 million iPads. Munster also says that he expects Apple to have sold 4.3 million iMacs in the first three months of 2012, just under Wall Street’s expected 4.4 million. As far as the rest of the year is concerned, Munster is still holding firm to his belief that Apple will announce its own branded television set in the December quarter, prior to it going onsale in early 2013. Munster does not have a specific date in mind for the launch of the next iPhone, simply saying that it will be here sometime this year.
