iPhone newbie - caller id question

I have an iPhone 4 and updated it to the latest is system. Not sure what happened cause it was working fine, but some how I am no longer able to see who's calling me if I'm talking when they call me. Caller id when talking on phone has disappeared. Also the option in settings no longer exists. Any advice? Thanks.
